IP-Converge (PSE:’CLOUD’), the country’s first and only publicly listed Internet data center and cloud services provider, recently received international certification for ISO 27001:2005 Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), and was also re-certified for its ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems (QMS). Both ISMS and QMS certifications were issued by TÜV Rheinland Philippines, Inc., a member of Germany-based TÜV Rheinland Group.
ISO 27001 is the international standard for examining a company’s information security risks; designing and implementing a comprehensive suite of information security controls; and adopting an overall management process to meet the organization's information security needs. An ISMS certified company ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information by identifying and managing information security risks and ensuring business continuity.
IP-Converge is one of only a few companies in the Philippines to be certified for both ISO 27001:2005 ISMS and ISO 9001:2008 QMS.
ISO 9001, one of the most widely sought-after certifications, is the global standard by which the quality of an organization’s internal processes is measured. IP-Converge states in its Quality Policy Statement that it is committed to maintaining customer satisfaction by consistently providing value-driven solutions and services, and ensuring this value through continuous improvement and innovation, and by emphasizing quality in daily operations.
Said IP-Converge President Rene Huergas, “We are very proud to be certified for QMS and ISMS, as it has always been our top priority at IP-Converge to provide enterprises with solutions and services that meet international standards. Our latest ISO certification further attests to this level of commitment. This is Service Excellence that our clients can expect from our highly professional staff and state-of-the-art facilities.”
IP-Converge operates carrier-neutral Internet data center facilities and manages its own international network infrastructure to provide co-location services and dedicated Internet connectivity to the enterprise. The company also offers cloud computing solutions from global industry leaders Google and Salesforce.com.
Ricky Inocencio, IP-Converge Director for Information Security, Quality, and Compliance says, “Effective and secure information handling, as well as the appropriate response to security incidents, are ensured through consistent compliance to ISO 27001:2005 and is reviewed and audited annually. And with TÜV Rheinland conducting our annual audits, our customers and partners are assured that we are 100 percent compliant.”
Headquartered in Cologne, Germany, TÜV Rheinland Group is a leading group for the provision of technical services worldwide with a track record of over 140 years. It has over 500 locations in 62 countries on all five continents. The Group's guiding principle is sustainable development of safety and quality standards.
“Our certification for ISO 27001:2005 strengthens our position as an Internet data center as it reassures clients of the integrity of our facilities, people and processes” Huergas added. “And because this is our second international standard certification, it further strengthens our position as one of the top data centers in the country, and empowers us to tap global markets for our brand of service excellence.”
